27th Annual General Meeting
I am, hereby, writing to give formal notice that the 27th Annual General Meeting of the Society will take place during the Annual Summer Meeting at 16.30 hours on Friday,5th July 20133 at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 6RG. I hope that many of you will be able to join us on this occasion.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31st March 2013 but will be accepted, electronically until the 20th April 2013. Confirmation of Registration will be sent preferably electronically. Receipts will be issued, where requested, either before or at the meeting. Full details of the meeting, Registration Forms are available on the Website and, eventually, the Provisional Programme will be posted on the Website: www.histansoc.org.uk.
Council has agreed that a further mailing will be made to all Members not less than two months before the date of the meeting once the Programme has been finalised. Wherever possible this will be done electronically. Council would be grateful if those willing to accept electronic mail could ensure that I have an up to date e-mail address
The final programme for this Meeting will be published on the Website.
There are several vacancies on Council. If any of you wish to nominate a Member of the Society for election to Council all nominations must be in writing and should include the written agreement of your nominee(s). I should be grateful if you could send me details of this and of any topic which you wish to be raised at the Annual General meeting no later than 30th April 2013. Self- nominations will be accepted but, must be accompanied by letters of recommendation from two Members of the Society.
If you have any matters which you wish to be raised at the Annual General Meeting please let me have details before the 30th April 2013.These may be sent electronically.
I should also like to remind you that we do encourage Trainees to present papers and attend our meetings. Registration fees are waived. They also receive free membership of the Society for one year and an invitation to the Annual Dinner in that year. Please encourage them to join us in the Lake District.
